About the company

This company is one of the fastest-growing insurance broking firms based in Sydney's Hills District. Established 7 years ago, they have rapidly expanded into a powerhouse team of dedicated professionals who provide outstanding service to their commercial and SME clients. Averaging very strong year on year growth, they are now looking to hire a driven Motor Claims Consultant to join their team.

About the role

  • Manage the end-to-end lodgement, assessment, and settlement process for a dedicated portfolio of commercial fleet, SME, and motor claims.

  • Act as a direct advocate for clients during stressful times—proactively managing expectations, interpreting policy wordings, and negotiating directly with insurers, assessors, and smash repairers to secure fair and timely outcomes.

  • Conduct initial liability assessments, evaluate fault vs. non-fault scenarios, and coordinate excess waivers and third-party recovery processes.

  • Liaise closely with Account Managers and Brokers to flag key claims trends, loss ratios, and coverage updates ahead of portfolio renewals.

  • Maintain accurate, compliant file notes and claims documentation within broker management systems.

This role will suit a proactive claims professional or an assistant broker with solid claims experience who wants to take the next step in their career, champion client advocacy, and join a successful business.

Demonstrated skills

  • 2–5 years' experience handling motor claims within an insurance broking, insurer, or TPA environment.

  • Solid understanding of motor policy wordings, liability principles, Australian road rules, and repair assessment workflows.

  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills to push back on insurer declinations and resolve repair bottlenecks.

  • Knowledge of Insight (Steadfast system) or similar broking platforms (e.g., WinBEAT) is highly regarded.

  • Tier 2 or Tier 1 General Insurance Compliance qualifications are advantageous.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first, empathetic approach.

Benefits

  • Attractive salary package reflective of experience

  • Highly collaborative, supportive, and energetic team culture

  • Clear career progression pathways into Senior Claims, Account Broking, or Client Management

  • Ongoing training, ANZIIF study support, and professional development

  • Fun social events and regular team celebrations
